Green Life: A Tranquil Residential House

Creating a Breathing Space of Ease and Comfort

The Green Life project, designed by Ding-Rui Tai and Yun-Hsiang Tsao, is a unique residential house located on the 3rd floor. The design aims to reduce the isolation from the outside world by incorporating windows adorned with greenery. The tranquil white color scheme and the use of primitive earthy tones in the interior extend the connection to nature, allowing the dweller to feel connected to the outdoors even while staying inside.

The design of Green Life is characterized by its use of ceramic plates, titanium-coated stainless steel sheets, stone materials, iron, glass, and paint. These materials come together to create a harmonious and visually appealing living space.

With a total area of 305 square meters, Green Life provides ample space for the dweller to live and work comfortably. The design takes into consideration the needs of someone who spends long hours at home, offering a breathing space of ease and comfort. The flowing light, drifting air, flexibility, and adaptability of the space create an environment that reflects the dweller's lifestyle.

The Green Life project was realized in Taiwan, with the design process starting in December 2015 and concluding in August 2016. Throughout the project, Ding-Rui Tai and Yun-Hsiang Tsao faced the challenge of understanding the dweller's main ideas and desires for their living space. By carefully listening and incorporating creative ideas, the design team aimed to fulfill the dweller's desires and transcend their expectations.

The Green Life project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2017 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to improvements in quality of life.

Green Life is a testament to the power of design to create a living space that not only meets the dweller's needs but also provides a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. Through the thoughtful use of materials, colors, and design elements, Ding-Rui Tai and Yun-Hsiang Tsao have crafted a residential house that truly embodies the concept of a green and peaceful life.
